Speaker of Yemen’s Parliament Yahya Ali al-Rai on Wednesday welcomed the initiative of the Houthi leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi on Quds Day regarding the exchange of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of Saudi detainees, including pilots and officers.

In a statement, the House Speaker considered this initiative an opportunity for the Saudi regime to review its hostile positions on the aspirations of the people of the Arab nation to be free from occupation, domination and the Zionist- American subordinateness.

Al-Ra’i praised the initiative, which was met with great satisfaction at the Arab and Islamic levels, and came to shade light on first central Arab cause “Palestine”.

On the other hand, the Speaker of the House deplored the fueling of wars and conflicts, and the aggravation of the situation among mercenary factions in the southern provinces under their control with the support of the aggression coalition led by the Saudi and Emirati regimes.

This came at a time when they declared Aden and a number of southern provinces as infested areas as a result of the aftermath of torrents disasters and the outbreak of diseases and epidemics, as well as the emerging epidemic of the Corona virus, he added.

Al-Ra’i pointed out that instead of joining efforts and directing capabilities to face disasters and provide services to citizens, resources are drained in futile wars and conflicts to implement foreign agendas that do not serve the nation, its unity, security and stability.
