The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) bombed Friday morning positions of Hadi loyalists in Shaqra area in Abyan province in southern Yemen.
“A number of mortar shells landed on various parts of the gatherings of Hadi and Islah” soldiers in Qarrn al-Kalasi area of Shaqra district, local sources stated.
Yemen’s occupied provinces are experiencing unprecedented tension soaring between STC forces and Hadi’s reigned regime forces after the Riyadh agreement failed to be implemented.
On Monday, the STC military leaders held an emergency meeting to discuss possible military options against the so-called “legitimate” forces in Abyan province.
Military observers believe that Abyan province will be the arena in which the transitional will blow up the clashes to expel Hadi forces from the various southern provinces, after the General Assembly of the STC pledged at the end of its third session to expel what it called “Muslim Brotherhood” from the rest of the southern provinces.
