Ansarullah: Saudi Arabia Targets Civilians When It Fails Militarily

Member of Yemen’s Ansarullah political bureau Mohammad al-Bukhaiti confirmed that the latest Saudi-led coalition airstrikes on Sana’a was the result of Riyadh’s military frustration.

“This is the nature of the countries of aggression, especially Saudi Arabia. When it fails militarily, it resorts to targeting civilians,” al-Bukhaiti said in an interview with U-News.

Late on Saturday, the Saudi-led coalition launched a series of airstrikes on the capital, targeting factories and residential areas. The air raids claimed the lives of at least two people and wounded several others.

“This [the airstrikes] confirms that they are targeting all the components of the Yemeni people’s lives through the siege and by bombing the infrastructure,” the Houthi official added. “If they really wanted to attack the drone factories in Sana’a, they wouldn’t have announced it before hand. In addition, what was struck in Sana’a was targeted previously.”

Al-Bukhaiti accused the resigned Hadi regime of not wanting to reach calm.

“Our position during the Sweden talks was clear regarding the necessity to ceasefire along all the fronts, stop the aggression, lift the siege, reach a political solution and form a new transitional government that is concerned with implementing the agreement,” he said. “But they refused and agreed to ceasefire just in Hodeida governorate.”
