UN Envoy to Yemen Reportedly Headed Back to Sana’a for Talks

UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths was reportedly heading to the Yemeni capital of Sana’a on Monday in a bid to convince Houthi revolutionaries to withdraw from the key port city of Hodeida.

In the past week, Griffiths has jetted between Sana’a, the southern city of Aden and Muscat, the Omani capital, for meetings with Houthi representatives and Yemeni regime officials including former President Hadi.

An Arab Coalition — spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and the UAE — intervened in Yemen’s civil war in 2015 at the request of the resigned regime of former President Hadi.
