The Houthi Ansarullah movement announced Friday that it has launched a ballistic missile on Saudi military target.

The Houthi revolutionaries, locked in a war against Yemen's Saudi-backed resigned regime, said they had fired a missile at the kingdom's southwestern province of Najran in a statement tweeted by Al-Masirah television channel.

Saudi Arabia has been targeted by multiple rocket attacks in recent weeks.

The Saudi-led coalition launched a military aggression against Yemen in support of resigned President Abed Rabbu Mansur Hadi's regime in March 2015.

But despite the coalition's superior firepower, the Houthi revolutionaries backed by the Yemeni army and the popular committees still control the capital and much of the north.

More than 8,750 people have been killed since the coalition intervened, according to the World Health Organization. However, according to a local non-governmental organization the Saudi aggression has killed more than 12,000 people and wounded thousands of others.
