Israel’s Intelligence Minister Invites Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman To Tel Aviv

The Israeli Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz reportedly asked Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Tel Aviv.

According to Katz’s spokesman, Arye Shalicar, the Israeli minister asked the Saudi king “to invite [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu officially to Riyadh, and … Mohammed bin Salman, the son, to come and visit Israel”.

Last month, Netanyahu claimed that Tel Aviv is covertly cooperating with some Arab states.

“I believe that these relations will continue to develop,” he said in November.

The Israelis and a number of Arab monarchies in the Persian Gulf, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, have been pursuing the normalization of ties, largely spurred on by their shared hostility towards Iran.
