The artillery of the Yemeni army and popular forces targeted sites and positions of the Saudi army and their mercenaries in Jizan and Najran provinces, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Monday.
The artillery force targeted the positions in al-Qarn, al-Bahtit, al-Mahata al-Bayda, al-Khawbah and Mustahdath area in al-Ghawiah in Jizan, the official said.
Military sites in the highlands of Rejla and al-Sodais in Najran also came under fire.
The army backed by the popular forces also destroyed a military vehicle carrying Saudi-backed mercenaries east of al-Qafal camp.
The army's snipers shot dead one mercenary in al-Talaa military site in Najran.
Meanwhile, the US-backed Saudi-led coalition warplane launched an air strike on al-Dood Mountain in Jizan, the official added.
