The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the number of deaths due to Cholera has risen to 2,180 since the outbreak began on April 27.

WHO’s Cholera Response Dashboard stated that “this is an increase of 3,281 cases in 24 hours—which is bad.”

The organization also revealed that the number of cholera cases in yemen has reached 872,425.

More than 14 million people are cut off from regular access to clean water and sanitation in Yemen, and waste collection has ceased in major cities.

Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibriocholera.

The Saudi-led aggression against Yemen has largely contributed to the spread of the epidemic. Since March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition has launched a military campaign that has destroyed the infrastructure and medical facilities.
