Saudi Forces Deployed In Yemen's Port Of Aden Amid Friction

Saudi forces have arrived in the southern port city of Aden amid friction within the kingdom-led coalition there.

Officials in the Hadi regime said the troops were deployed on Friday at the presidential palace, port, and airport.

They are the first special Saudi forces in Aden since a Saudi-led coalition in 2015 bombing the country to restore resigned Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi's regime. After the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, Hadi fled to Riyadh and based his regime in Aden.

In Aden, Hadi has continued to face multiple challenges, including recent friction with another member of the Saudi-led coalition, the United Arab Emirates. UAE forces are also based in Aden.
