The president of Yemen’s Supreme Revolutionary Committee called on the people of the Arabian Peninsula country to participate in the upcoming rallies in the capital and other cities to condemn the Saudi-led war and express their support for the Yemeni forces.

In a Facebook post, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi asked the people from all walks of life to join the mass rally in several squares in the capital Sana’a as well as other cities scheduled for next week on Thursday.

He further emphasized that the demonstrations would be held to deploy fresh reinforcements and support equipment to the battlefields against the Saudi-led coalition forces.

The Yemeni top official also praised various Yemeni tribes and their major role in the September 21 Revolution.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign
