Yemen’s Foreign Ministry said attempts to classify Yemen or its citizens as a possible source of terrorism are illegal and illegitimate claims.
The Foreign Ministry followed carefully the US administration's executive order issued on Friday imposing strict and extraordinary measures and full scrutiny to immigration and visa requests from seven Arab and Islamic countries, a statement issued by the Ministry read.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen is aware that such action is the sovereign right for the United States, however, identifying specific countries as potential sources of terrorists … needs more assessment and revision."
The Ministry called on the United States to deal with the Yemeni citizens in accordance with the standard process adopted with all citizens of the United States' friendly countries, and not to consider them as a source of concern or risk, or affect their interests or legal status inside or outside US territories.
