The Yemeni army and Popular Committees made major progress on Tuesday in the southwestern areas of Taiz province, as they managed to break into the Al-Jreibat military sites in the area of Karsh.

Sources from ground reported that units of the army and the Committees stormed Al-Akama military positions in Al-Meragh directorate, as well as Dhabi sites in Hayfan district in Taiz province.

The national military also launched a major attack on positions belonging to the mercenaries of aggression forces in Mount Sharaf Al-Enein in Jabal Habashi directorate in Taiz, and made direct hits.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 8,300 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
