Directorate‑General of Antiquities and Museums announced that the Saudi aggression had greatly damaged 12 monuments including 4 historical cities, according to the official notices received by the authority.

Chief of the authority, Muhannad al-Sayani, said that the Yemeni monuments damaged due to the Saudi aggression were: Abd al-Razzak al-Sanani mosque in Sanhan, Home of al-Hasan in Damt, Aden museum and Cairo Fort in Taez, Imam Hadi mosque in Saada, al-Bukhari steam bath near Imam Hadi Mosque, Ghamdan palace, the old City of Sanaa and Saada, City of Barakesh in al-Jawf, City of Sirwah in Mareb, and the archeological village of Faj Atan in Sanaa.

Further, al-Sayani pointed out that this survey had only included the official notices it received. Thus, other monuments might have been targeted by the aggression; however, the authority didn’t receive any notice of relation to the others due to the unsettled situation.

The chief of authority called on the international organizations to interfere and halt the aggression on Yemeni heritage. He also thanked UNESCO for its reaction and condemnation of the Saudi aggression on the Yemeni monuments.
