Four members of the resigned Yemeni regime forces were killed Friday when Saudi Arabia-led coalition bombed their vehicle in Yemen's northeastern province of al-Jawf, a military official told Xinhua.

According to the local military source who asked to remain anonymous, "an airstrike carried out by the Saudi-led coalition mistakenly struck a military vehicle east of Al Hazm area in al-Jawf."

He said that the eastern part of Al Hazm has been witnessing non-stop fighting between resigend regime forces and the Yemeni army during the past 24 hours.

He clarified that "a military vehicle of the government forces advanced towards the Houthi-controlled sites, and that an airstrike accidentally struck it, killing four soldiers and wounding three others."

The source indicated that confrontations are still continuing between the two sides and that the coalition warplanes launched a series of air raids against the Yemeni army there.

The army control much of al-Jawf and Hadi loyalists backed by the Saudi-led coalition are attempting to expel the army out of the province.
