Saudi-led Coalition Forces Suffer Major Losses

The US-backed Saudi-led coalition forces suffered heavy losses in the equipment on Thursday.

According to Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah news website, the Yemeni army backed by the popular committees including the Houthi Ansarullah movement were able to destroy 17 Saudi military vehicles including tanks, Hummer, and four-wheel drives in the province of Shabwa.

The losses in military equipment come following fierce clashes between allied forces and Saudi-backed mercenaries in the areas of Bayhan and Asaylan.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 8,300 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
