The Yemeni army backed by the popular committees including the Ansarullah movement managed on Saturday to take control of four sites belonging to pro-Hadi militias in Shuraijah area of Taiz province.
The take over left behind tens of dead and wounded and a number of military vehicles destroyed.
The army and committees forces also achieved an important progress in Dhabab Front and forced pro-government fighters out of it.
This as the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched a series of sorties on different areas in Taiz in a desperate attempt to support its fighters.
Yemen has been under Saudi airstrikes on a daily basis since the regime in Riyadh launched its military campaign against the impoverished nation in late March, in a bid to undermine the Ansarullah movement and restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch Saudi ally.
More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others wounded since March.
