The spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said that the Saudi-led coalition’s military escalation contradicted the statements made by the UN envoy Martin Griffiths.
Saree stressed that coalition forces continue to launch infiltration attempts while Saudi fighter jets’ air raids continue unabated. He added that on Thursday three strikes were launched against Kitaf district in Saada province.
On that same day, Griffiths briefed the UN Security Council saying that “the air war in Yemen had reduced by 80%” in November and “since the beginning of January, there have been nine days with no airstrikes at all.”
