Yemeni Army Launches Drone Attacks on Saudi Air Base

The Yemeni army said they launched multiple drone attacks on King Khaled Air Base in southwestern Saudi Arabia on early Saturday, al-Masirah TV reported.

"The attacks targeted hangars and runway of the air base in Khamis Mushait city," the television said, citing a statement by the army spokesman Yahya Saree.

"The attacks came in response to the aggressor's crimes and continuing blockade against the great Yemeni people," Sarea said in the statement.

There was no immediate confirmation from Saudi Arabia on the alleged attack.

Houthis have recently stepped up missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, but most of the attacks were intercepted by the kingdom's air defenses.

Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab military coalition against the Houthis in Yemen for more than five years in support of the resigned regime of former Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
