The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) on Wednesday called on governments supporting and funding the Yemen war to “maintain pressure on conflict parties to fully implement the Stockholm agreement, including deployment of all monitors needed to oversee the ceasefire.”

A statement issued by NRC’s country director in Yemen, Mohamed Abdi, also said that the charity welcomed the fresh talks between Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and the resigned regime of former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Abdi also urged that “Hodeida port remains free from military attack, allowing more food, fuel and medicines to reach millions of people living on the verge of starvation.”

“Yemenis are desperate for concrete outcomes from the talks that will ensure salaries will be paid in Hodeida, and throughout the country, and will help rebuild the economy and restore Yemen’s public services, ” Abdi concluded.
