The U.S. Senate on Wednesday approved to debate a bill to stop US military support for Saudi Arabia in its war on Yemen.

A number of republican and democratic senators are considering a bill that would include a wide range of efforts to pressure Riyadh and impose sanctions on it as well as stopping arms sales.

Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations at the US Senate, Democratic Senator Bob Corker, said he would present a joint resolution condemning Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which may force President Trump to consider in signing or rejecting it.
