At least three women were killed on Saturday when the Saudi-led coalition-backed militants launched artillery bombardments on Yemen’s Taiz province, a security official told Yemen Press Agency.

The artillery shelling targeted a house in al-Haydin area in Salw district which resulted in the death of the three and causing huge destruction to the house, the official added.

Saudi Arabia backs Yemen’s resigned Hadi regime and has since March 2015 led a coalition battling the country’s Houthi revolutionaries.

Yemen’s stalemated three-year war has killed over 10,000 people and devastated the country’s infrastructure. The Saudi-led coalition faces widespread international criticism over airstrikes that kill civilians.
